AMBASSADOR REWARDS PROGRAM
The 2010-2011 Ambassador Rewards Program, 'My Southern Highlands', was also launched this week to recognise Wingecarribee Shire residents as an important link in referring their visiting friends and relatives (VFR) to our local tourism industry members.  Approximately 500,000 visitors come to the Southern Highlands each year for this purpose.

This is the 3rd year of the local community VFR program developed by TSH.  Local residents are being encouraged to become Ambassadors, and in return will be rewarded with great deals and discounts at participating TSH Members businesses ranging from food & wine establishments, attractions, activities, specialty shops and services.  All local residents and businesses will be mailed a special redemption card and information on the program in the first weeks of July.  New for this year is the introduction of a 20 page DL Booklet containing 70 odd deals and discounts, brochure display stands, participating operator window decals and an enhanced micro website whereby a 'Services' category and downloadable card mechanism have been further developed and introduced.  The campaign is valid from 1 July 2010 until 30 July 2011.  Click here to visit the website.

BARNSLEY'S LAST HOORAH!
Local tourism pioneers Garry and Nerida Barnsley were farewelled last week at one of the Barnsely's favourite venues in the Southern Highlands, Milton Park by a good representation of their industry colleagues.  The Barnsley's 25 years of tourism involvement was highlighted by keynote speakers, Richard Mulvaney former CEO of Bradman Museum of Cricket, Helene Jessup, Brigadoon and Paul McShane, Booktrail.

The Barnsley's were presented with a Dee Kramer image of their flagship tourism product, "A Little Piece of Scotland".  They will be dearly missed from the industry in the short term as they head off to Europe in the next couple of months to enjoy retirement (and get a life).
