NEW ZEALAND AGENTS VISIT THE SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS
Tourism Southern Highlands played host to seven New Zealand Travel Agents on Thursday 17 and Friday 18 June.  The group was part of the Tourism NSW Grand Pacific Drive familiarisation programe and whilst here visited a number of key products including, the Illawarra Fly Tree Top Walk, Bradman Museum of Cricket, Centennial Vineyards, Berkelouws Books, historic Berrima, the Milk Factory Gallery, Bowral, Craigieburn Resort and Fitzroy Falls.  Our thanks goes out to Tourism NSW, Tourism Illawarra and local industry sponsors.

FLAGSHIP EVENTS
Expressions of interest are now being accepted for the 2011 Regional Flagship Event Program.  If you would like your event to be considered for Regional Flagship funding please complete an EOI and return it to the Regional Flagship Co-Ordinator by C.O.B. Friday 23 July 2010.  Please ensure that you have read through the Conditions which are available to download form the RFEP Website to make sure that your event is eligible to apply.  Visit the Regional Flagship Event Program page on Tourism NSW's corporate website for more information and to download and Expression of Interest form.

ACCREDITATION - Southern Highlands Looses Its Bundanoon Level 3 VIC
The Southern Highlands has lost one of its three accredited Level 3 Visitor Information Centres, as The Bundanoon Motel has been notified by AVIC that it has not met the requirements for continuing its accreditation as a Level 3 Visitor Information Centre.  TSH is currently working closely with the Bundanoon Visitors Group to find a new tourism business to undertake this important role.

TULIP TIME 2010
As this year's festival approaches - 21 September until 4 October, the momentum behind the scenes hots up.  There are still stall spaces available for the Food & Wine Show and the House & Garden Show, both being held over the weekend of Saturday 25 & Sunday 26 September.  For all the latest Tulip Time news click here.

PROMOTIONS - WHAT'S EVERYONE DOING?
TSH and many of our members have been very busy with promoting their businesses, products and events:  is what's been happening and is about to:

  • Southern Highland Wines, has had their 2009 Sauvignon Blanc named as the second best Sauvignon Blanc in the world.
  • Bluemetal Vineyard Cottage, had a great write up in The Sun Herald, courtesy of a the TNSW Visiting Journalists program.
  • Stones Restaurant At Eling Forest, has been nominated as a finalist in Best Restaurant In A Winery category for South Coast in 2009.
