The Southern Highlands offers a wealth of riding opportunities for road and mountain bikers alike all within 2 hours of Sydney, 1.5 hours from Canberra and 1.5 hours from Wollongong. Quite country roads, expansive State Forests and National Parks all make for a cycling paradise.

Wingello/Bundanoon

Wingello State Forest is a mixed native and pine forest with opportunities for novice and expert mountain biker alike. In recent years a network of purpose built trail (single-track) has been built to complement the forest tracks and roads. Presently there is some 12 km of trail built with more planned. Welby/Mittagong

Located close to Mittagong, Welby Mountain Bike track begins at the end of Meranie Street at the Car park of Welby Cemetery. Track 1 is an easy 1.56km ride and Track 2 is moderate, combine the both and it is a total distance 5.8 km. Please take care when crossing trails & roads. Watch out for Dog walkers, Trail bikers and Joggers. A detailed map is available for FREE from the Visitors Centre in Mittagong.

Fitzroy Falls

Enjoy riding through Morton National Park along Fire and Management trails. (Cycling prohibited on designated walking tracks). Twin Falls Bush Cottages offer Mountain Bike Hire and have 5 kms of track available.
