Join us as historians Jan Worthington and Ann Beaumont discuss the subjects of their latest biographies, emancipist Laurence Hynes Halloran (1790–1866) murderer, forger, bigamist and founding principal of Sydney Grammar School, and the soldier settler Edward Charles Close (1765–1831) 'father' of the Hunter Valley, colonial artist and one of the Duke of Wellington's men in Australia. $30, includes wine, nibbles and entry to Harpers before 4pm. A fundraiser for the volunteer run National Trust Property, Harpers Mansion, Berrima.
