Mittagong

For most visitors Mittagong represents the gateway to the Southern Highlands. However, many people would be unaware that the town has many interesting surprises. Mittagong possess more history per square inch of its townscape than many other areas in the Southern Highlands. And, it’s history is quite unique, being focused and developed on industrial and commercial foundations. There are also natural highlights such as Mt Gibraltar (The Gib), Mt Alexandra and Lake Alexandra and bushwalking tracks such as the Box Vale Walking Track. The older part of town is a mass of fantastic laneways and enormous trees, making a walk through this town a real treat.
