Moss Vale
With its winding tree lined main street the country village atmosphere of this town lives on and today Moss Vale is one of the prime rural centres in New South Wales for sheep, cattle, goats and horses. Visitors to this town will enjoy strolling the tree-lined streets where an abundance of antique shops, art galleries and specialty stores can be found. Historically the coming of the railway to Moss Vale saw a steady growth pattern commercially, agriculturally and industrially. It also made Moss Vale accessible to visitors and the seal of tourism approval was given to the area when the Governor of NSW made his country residence in the area in the 1800s. The railway has always been an integral part of Moss Vale and today tourists can take the opportunity of special visits by Steam Train from Sydney and also from the coast on the now famous Cockatoo Run.
