Bowral to Moss Vale via Robertson & Fitzroy Falls

To really do this drive justice allow yourself plenty of time to fit everything in. Heading east from the Kangaloon Road roundabout in Bowral you will pass Horderns Road leading to Milton Park on your left and the Bong Bong Racetrack on your right. Continue on until you reach the Kangaloon Road intersection. Turn left here and just along the road you will find the Wingecarribee Reservoir and picnic area on your right. As you continue winding your way up the hillside you will pass sheep and cat tle grazing on emerald green pasture. Proceed into the villages of Kangaloon and East Kangaloon. Look out for the old church and cemetery. Dry stone walls are a feature of this area. From here the road proceeds into the township of Robertson.
The entrance to Robertson is marked by huge old gum trees. This quaint rural town boasts a variety of interesting shops, including the Old Robertson Cheese Factory and Robertson Recollections. Not to be missed is the Robertson Nature Reserve (rainforest). Follow the Tourist Drive signs down Pearsons Lane to Belmore Falls, one of the three scenic waterfalls in the area offering visitors a range of walking tracks and lookouts, including Hindmarsh Lookout, form which to appreciate the beauty of this escarpment country.
Short detours form this drive will lead you to Wildes Meadow and the village of Burrawang.
Back on the Tourist Drive the road leads you to Fitzroy Falls reservoir and Picnic Area. The facilities here are excellent and even include boiling water on tap! Further on you will find Fitzroy Gallery and the Fitzroy Falls Visitor Centre operated by the National Parks & Wildlife Service. Here you will find the magnificent Fitzroy Falls, bushwalks and a very welcome “cuppa” at the Falls Café.
The road from Fitzroy Falls continues onto Moss Vale taking you past strawberry and berry farms. In Moss Vale you will find amazing antique shops, unique bookshops, Leighton Gardens and a variety of eating places.
