that will name the best pies in the Southern Highlands and beyond!

The competition will take place on Wednesday 29, Thursday 30 & Friday 31 May 2019.
Following the judging, an awards celebratory dinner event to be held on Saturday 1 June 2019 at the Mittagong RSL Club.
The award winning pies will be on public display on Sunday 2 June 2019 at the Mittagong RSL Club.

The competition is open to everyone 

Yes, everyone, producing pies in the Southern Highlands and throughout NSW & the ACT, 
bakers, pie makers, chefs, cooks and home bakers are eligible to enter this great competition.

There are five main commercial categories – Red Meat, White Meat, Vegetarian, Seafood and Sweet. 
The entries in these categories must be commercially available for sale both after the competition 
and at the PieFest on the 29th and 30th June at the Bong Bong Racecourse Bowral.
This year there will be a new special category for Artisan pies that don’t need to be commercially available. 
There will also be additional categories for sausage rolls & pasties. 
The sweet categories will also be broken into pies and tarts.
The Apprentice and Community / Home Cook categories are broken into two sub-categories for sweet and savoury.

Award winning pies will be on sale at the Pie Fest 29-30 June 2019.

Award winning pies can be pre ordered on-line for collection at the PIE FEST.
Pre ordered pies must be ordered and paid for at time of booking PIE FEST e-tickets online at https://piefest.com.au/. The range of pies available for pre-order will be limited to the commercial winner of the NS/ACT Best Pie Competition and will only be available cold. Collection will only be available from the designated piebar at the PIE FEST.

SPECIAL NOTE

This competition has been extended to incorporate NSW & ACT bakers, 
so as to encourage greater competition and sustainability of the competition.
Nb: currently there is no State Pie Competition.
