This event is specially targeted to newcomers to the Southern Highlands particularly those moving from the city. Many of us currently living in this region have moved from Sydney or Canberra and been challenged with country ways or many standards or knowledge that is common to those who have lived here for many years. But although city slickers know how to avoid traffic jams, climb escalators and beat the peak hour rush they could be challenged on how to manage their acreage, identify cattle breeds or know what to do if confronted by wildlife or livestock on the road. With presenters from NSW Police, Exeter Rural Fire Service, Local Land Services and some knowledgeable farm owners we have put together a program which will help to explain mysteries or practices for newcomers to living in the country. Proceeds will go to Exeter Country Women's Association and charities it supports.
