Winter is a time of fires and feasting in the Highlands, and there is no more decadent ingredient than the truffle. For The Loch’s next seasonal Foodie Field Day, chef Brigid Kennedy has put together a true Fungi Feast – an inspired seven-course degustation lunch celebrating the rich and aromatic flavours of truffles and exotic mushrooms.
Each course will be paired with a matching Southern Highlands beverage, while guests will be informed and entertained by local producers as they share insights into their craft.
Highlights of the decadent menu include crisp pork belly with soy-glazed shiitake mushrooms; french onion soup with panko-crumbed truffle brie; twice-cooked leek and chestnut mushroom soufflé; and milk-braised beef with Jerusalem artichoke, truffle shavings and truffled onion rings.
