Composer, pianist, writer, educator & entertaining speaker, Larry Sitsky AO will share his recollections of one of our most notable musicians.
Ernest Llewellyn, the son of a miner in Kurri Kurri, seemed to play his violin effortlessly.
After retiring as concertmaster of the SSO, he inaugurated and directed National Music Camps and Musica Viva Festivals and was the founding director of the Canberra School of Music where he taught and performed for many years with Larry Sitsky,
He also lived in Mittagong, where he taught violin, founded the Sturt Orchestra and played in the inaugural Clubbe Hall concert.
The Berrima District Music Group sponsors this annual lecture in memory of Ian Cooper, former music master at Frensham, pianis, organist and composer.
Admission at the door Adults $20. Students $5 includes refreshments
ALL WELCOME Enter via Waverly Pde and follow signs to Cooper Hall.
