Come and meet our new addition to the Visitor Centre at Fitzroy Falls the Salvage Spider!
She is constructed entirely from materials destined for landfill using discarded soft toys and industrial offcuts.
Over 200 metres of web was handspun using teddy bear innards.
She weighs 17kg and took 8 hours to install her. She is a giant Orb Weaving Spider and they consume their webs and reuse the proteins to spin a new one.
Her message is about recycling, reducing and reusing.
Made by Byronny Anderson from One Off Makery and has been gifted to the FFVC.
