There is a treat in store for Southern Highlands’ music lovers when renowned early music ensemble, The Marais Project celebrate 20 years of music-making with a concert at the Rose Room, Burradoo.
In 2019, The Marais Project celebrates two decades as one of Australia's most creative early music ensembles. Led by highly regarded viola da gambist, Jenny Eriksson, who has twice appeared at Bowral Autumn Music Festival, The Marais Project has performed across Australia and in New Zealand. They have released 7 CDs, many of which were selected as “CD of the Week” on ABC Classic FM. Eriksson is joined by Marais Project lutenist and Australian Brandenburg Orchestra stalwart, Tommie Andersson, visiting Swedish viola da gambist, Leif Henrikson, and soprano/violinist, Susie Bishop.
The program consists of a wonderful variety of baroque music from Italy, France, England and Germany and gorgeous arrangements of Swedish folk songs made by Swedish-born, Tommie Andersson.
